• Ensure sliding parts are clean and free of debris.
• Fill the alcohol lamp to less than two-thirds; for best results use medical-purity 95% alcohol.
• Light the alcohol lamp and place it at the front of the test tube. After about 1 minute, turn the flywheel and the engine should start to rotate; the warm-up time with the generator may be slightly longer.
