The primary mission of the US Embassy in Nicosia is promoting a comprehensive
settlement that resolves the confrontation on Cyprus.The Embassy works to help resolve
the division of the island through contact with Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot
communities. On the economic front, we are expanding trade opportunities for American
businesses in Cyprus and the region. Embassy activities range from the traditional, such
as issuing visas and assisting American citizens residing in and visiting Cyprus, to new
tasks driven by today's emerging challenges. These include working with local law
