Is Cyprus what remains of lost Atlantis? The first part of sonar investigations off the east coast of Cyprus by a USA expedition headed by Robert Sarmast was concluded. According to Samarst, he and his team of scientists have been able to gather enough evidence that the lost island of Atlantis, described by Plato, is not a myth. Its acropolis and other man made structures revealed themselves in the sonar depiction of the seabed, though burried under several meters of mud only 70 km off the east coast of Cyprus. In fact, according to Sarmast, Cyprus was part of a bigger island (Atlantis) most of which sunk thousands of years ago. Samarst said his team will study the findings in detail and return to search further with hope to reveal more evicence deep below the mud covering their present findings.
